Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival
The Jules Verne Film Festival debuted at the Los Angeles Theatre on Broadway December 14th & 15th, 2007 with a two day film series dedicated to exploration and preservation of our planet. National Preservation Partners staff provided support, guidance, and fundraising assistance to the JVAFF along with ensuring the event had safe, convenient, affordable parking at Pershing Square. |

Jules Verne Festival to come to Broadway Theatre District
National Preservation Partners is excited to announce that the Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival will be coming to the Broadway Theatre District on December 9th, 2007 with a closing event at the historic Bradbury Building and then the film festival itself will run December 14th & 15th at the historic Los Angeles Theatre. NPP will provide support and assistance to the JVAFF in coming to Broadway. |

Gail Goldberg responds positively to Huizar motions
On January 4, 2007 the Director of Planning for the City of Los Angeles responded to the Motions introduced by Jose Huizar on November 3rd , 2006 by requesting support for a dedicated person to manage the project within the City planning Department and along with requesting $250,000 for Traffic, environmental, and Urban Design Consultants to developer required documents. |

Huizar introduces motion in City Council
The efforts of National Preservation Partners to get the City Officials to recognize Broadway as a significant resource took a step in the right direction today when Councilmember Jose Huizar introduced a Motion to City Council that recognized Broadway and acknowledges the NPP Broadway Theatre Planning Project as a recently compiled resource of information that indicates the streets significance. |

The League of Historic America Theatres held its annual conference in Los Angeles on July 18th to 22nd, 2006. During the conference, several days involved touring the Broadway Theater District. We were welcomed by Councilmen Jose Huizar at the Los Angeles Theatre. |

Inauguration of Jose Huizar in Los Angeles Theatre
On December 1st, 2005 Jose Huizar was inaugurated as Councilmember of District 14 in the City of Los Angeles at the historic Los Angeles Theatre. The celebration was heard throughout the streets and the Los Angeles Fire Department performed a visual display by blocking off Broadway and raising their ladders in solute to the occasion. |

Downtown Theaters Feasibility Study - Parts II and III
NPP released its findings of the BTPP project with a presentation at the Los Angeles Theater where property owners, City Officials, and interested individuals attended. Broadway Theaters Planning Project - Part I: Results of Market Study
By utilizing the marketing concepts from the USC School of Fine Arts students and our findings from our January 2002 theatre analysis we were able to raise $43,500 from the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the Community Development Department (CDD) to fund a Arts and Entertainment Market Study by AMS Planning and Research for the Broadway Theatre District. AMS Planning & Research was retained by National Preservation Partners to conduct a market study to determine the feasibility of developing a theater district in downtown Los Angeles. |

Entertainment Zone
In early 2004, NPP introduced the concept of creating a special Entertainment Zone along Broadway that would create special incentives and attract businesses to the area by expediting the permitting and licensing process within the zone, thus making it easier for existing and new businesses to thrive in the district. |

For the Los Angeles Conservancy's loft tour this year, National Preservation Partners was able to display the exciting USC project "Branding Broadway", which was recently featured in the LA Downtown News. Through efforts of Historic Consultants, Inc., a local firm specializing in historic rehabiliation, exhibition space in the historic Irvine-Byrne Building was available. |

Broadway Theatres Architectural Review January 2002
The concept of the BTPP was created in January 2002 when representatives from Historic Consultants, Inc. and Westlake Reed Leskosky architects conducted the first overview study of the theatres. WRL has been honored with more than 100 national, state, and local level AIA design awards, and AIA state level Gold Medal firm award, and several honors from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. |

In October of 2000, the National Trust for Historic Preservation held their annual preservation conference at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
